Local Hospitals & Carriers
Health First operates the major hospitals throughout Brevard County, including Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne (the county’s largest hospital and its Level II Trauma Center), Palm Bay Hospital, and Viera Hospital — with Indialantic residents just minutes from Melbourne’s Holmes Regional in particular.
Because Health First also offers its own ACA Marketplace plans, many Indialantic residents choose a Health First Health Plan specifically to stay in-network with the Health First hospital system. Ambetter, Cigna, Florida Blue, and Wellpoint are also available in the area for residents who prefer a different network. We’ll help you compare your options and confirm which plans keep you in-network with the providers you already use.
Why Work With NISONA
NISONA is a Sebastian-based independent agency serving the entire Space Coast and Treasure Coast — not a national call center. Kathy Jones, our licensed advisor, works directly with clients to compare plans across every major carrier and find the coverage that actually fits your situation, at no cost to you.
A Town That’s More Than Its Name
Ask any longtime resident and they’ll tell you: it’s not “India-Atlantic.” Indialantic — officially incorporated in 1952 as “Indialantic-by-the-Sea” — takes its name from sitting directly between the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean, and locals have been good-naturedly correcting the pronunciation for over 70 years.
It’s a town that takes its natural surroundings seriously. The Town Council designated Indialantic a bird sanctuary back in 1975, and it remains one of the few beachside Brevard communities with a genuine historic downtown, a public dog beach, and multiple beach access points packed into just one square mile. Robert Marx — one of the most decorated underwater archaeologists in history, credited with documenting more than 5,000 shipwrecks across over 60 countries — called Indialantic home for much of his later life, right up until his passing in 2019.
Small, tight-knit communities like Indialantic often have big gaps in health coverage awareness — retirees who moved from out of state, self-employed residents, and people who left corporate jobs for the beach lifestyle don’t always know what’s available to them locally. That’s where NISONA comes in.
Your Health Insurance Options in Indialantic
Most Indialantic residents shopping for individual or family coverage qualify for savings through the ACA Marketplace, especially with income-based subsidies that can significantly lower monthly premiums. NISONA also reviews off-exchange plans for households who don’t qualify for subsidies, and can help you understand how enrollment timing works if you’re new to the area, recently retired, or coming off employer coverage.
There’s no charge to work with us — we’re paid by the insurance carriers, not by you, and we’ll always tell you plainly if a plan isn’t a good fit rather than just selling what pays the highest commission.
