Medicare Supplement  Plan A  has been the least popular Medicare Plan primarily due to reduced benefits.  However, it still covers perhaps one of the most important benefits which is the 20% Medicare does not pay for Part B expenses.

Important benefits about Plan A:

• You never need to worry about referrals.
• See any doctor that accepts Medicare.  Currently over 850,00 participate in Medicare.
• With Plan A referrals are never needed.

Medigap Plan Plan A covers:

• Medicare Part A coinsurance plus hospital expenses up to 365 additional days in the facility facility/hospital after medicare benefits.
• Part B Medicare coinsurance
• Blood up to the first 3 pints
• Part A Hospice care co-insurance

Medigap Plan A does not cover

• Your part A deductible which is currently $1384 for 2019)
• Your Part B deductible (currently 135.50 for 2019)
• Skilled Nursing facility Coinsurance
• Hospice coinsurance
• Excess charges
• Travel overseas
