Medicare Supplement Plan G – Medigap Plan G has been the second most popular choice in Medigap plans for years.  However, with Medigap Plan F going away Jan 1, 2020 for all Seniors turning 65 and going on Medicare, it will quickly become the most popular plan along with Medigap Plan N.

Plan G benefits are identical to Plan F with one exception. Plan G members will be responsible for the Medicare Part B deductible which in 2019 is $185.

Important facts about Plan G:

• No referrals are needed.
• See the doctor of your choice.  More than 850,00 doctors currently participate in Medicare.

What does Plan G cover:

• Your part A deductible – $1384
• Part B coinsurance or co-payment.  In addition, Plan G also covers any excess charges the doctor charges above what Medicare approves.
• Medicare Part A coinsurance plus hospital expenses up to 365 additional days in the facility/hospital after medicare benefits.
• Blood up to the first 3 pints
• Hospice coinsurance
• Excess charges
• Travel overseas up to plan limits

With a Medigap Plan G  you will never need to worry about referrals.
